About Us
Jr. SocaDom showcases the vocal and performing abilities of youth in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Jr. SocaDom seeks the stage for the young artists into the world of, and Business of Music and Music Production. From concept, to engaging composers, producers and songwriters, to split sheets and royalty payments, to the ownership of masters, and performance of tracks.
Ultimately, Jr. SocaDom seeks to improve the quality of music produced in St. Kitts and Nevis, beginning with interested youth participants.
Guidelines
– Children between the ages of 5 – 16 years are eligible to enter into the competition
– Competitors must be citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis.
– Participants will be given the choice to select from a pool of already created songs by local producers, OR they can independently have their own song created for submission.
– Lyrics should promote patriotism and national pride; unity; Nevis in its splendor; nature; or anything that is wholesome. Vulgarity is strictly prohibited. Children will not be allowed to sing about illegal activities or substances, including alcohol; marijuana; or sexual content, unless the song speaks to the negative effects of such.
– Tracks should be no longer than 4:30s and should contain at least 2 verses and a chorus.
– The song played during the Elimination Round must be the same song performed on stage for the competition finals.
– Finalists will be selected based on points scored by judges during a live elimination round.
